Fishgold is widely regarded as one of the UK’s hottest young fighters, he will make the drop down to featherweight and fight in that division going forward.

Here is what Chris Fishgold had to say about joining Cage Warriors:

“I’m made up with signing for Cage Warriors. I’ve fought on a lot of different promotions but it’s getting harder to find regular matchups. I’d like to thank promotions I’ve fought on in the past like OMMAC, but for me now it’s just about working hard and having regular fights”

As mentioned earlier, Fishgold will be making a drop down to featherweight, here are his comments on the change in weighclass:

“A lot of the weight thing has been trying to find fights you know. I fought Andy Devent at 75kg he’s a big strong guy but I held my own. I think down at featherweight I’m going to be really strong.”

Both Chris and the promotion are excited about the signing which will add another great fighter to an already competitive division. Cage Warriors will give Fishgold an opportunity to showcase his talent on a much bigger stage:

“My teammate Danny Roberts fought on there recently and he’s signed. After I heard that Cage Warriors had spoken to Paul Rimmer and TNA my management, I just wanted to sign and get a fight right away. They felt like it would be good for me and I just want fights to get into the top ten rankings as soon as I can. I’ve always loved fighting in Liverpool but to fight for a big promotion in other places is exciting. I feel like it’s my job to represent Liverpool and my gym in other places now. I’ve said it before, if your names on the rankings list I’m coming for you.”
