    Shane Nelson

A new fight has been added to the main card of MFC 35 as “Sugar” Shane Nelson (15-6) takes on Graham Spencer (8-1) in a 145-pound battle. The event is set to take place at the Mayfield Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, on Friday, Oct. 26.

The bout was announced today via official MFC press release.

The main card for this event will air LIVE on AXS TV. The Spencer-Nelson fight joins a card topped by a co-main event pitting Elvis “The King” Mutapcic against Joseph “Leonidas” Henle for the MFC world middleweight title.

Nelson (15-6) has signed a multi-fight deal with the MFC, and is ecstatic about making his debut in the 145-pound division after a successful run at lightweight that included a stint on “The Ultimate Fighter – Season 8: Nogueira vs. Mir.”. He last fought in February at the “Shooto – Gig Central 24” event in Japan, where he dropped a second round submission loss to Takasuke Kume. Prior to that Shane built up a three fight winning streak, defeating notable fighters Jai Bradley, Aaron Wetherspoon and Lance Wipf during 2011.

Here is what Shane Nelson had to say about the upcoming bout:

“I intend on making a statement. I’m not taking Graham lightly but I’m not coming to lose,” Nelson also said “I’m coming to leave it all on the line, and I’m coming to try and take his head off. I’m going to put on an exciting fight.”

Graham Spencer is currently riding a three fight winning streak, most recently defeating Shawn Albrecht via fourth round submission at BFL 13 in February. Prior to that he defeated both Mukai Maromo and Bruno Capedeville via unanimous decision. Graham will no doubt be looking to put on a good performance in his promotional debut in October.
