The fight was announced by UCMMA officials this week via official press release.

UCMMA 31 will feature a headline bout between Neil Grove and the winner of UCMMA 30′s fight between Darren Towler and Dayman Lake.

Here is what UCMMA promoter Dave O’Donnell said to Mike Clarke from TheFightLounge.co.uk:

“I love the fans of Great Britain and if people ask me to get Paul Kelly on a UCMMA event, I will do my hardest to make that happen.” O’Donnell stated, “Kelly will bring the masses to the show and I hope he brings it all to the cage too. I have already got my ticket and I cannot wait.”

Paul Kelly was last in action at SFL 2 in April, where he dropped a unanimous decision loss to Ryan Healy. Prior to that he suffered a second round submission loss against Donald Cerrone at UFC 126 in February 2011. His last victory was against TJ O’Brien at UFC 123 in November 2010, where he scored a second round TKO. Kelly will no doubt look to bounce back into the win column with a big performance against Griffin.

Richard Griffin last fought at Quest Fighting Championship in April, where he dropped a first round submission loss against Jack Mason. Prior to that he picked up a first round submission win over Ross Pointon at “UCMMA – Dominican Republic” in November 2011, and suffered a first round submission loss against Jonatan Westin at WFC 2 in July 2011. Griffin now has a chance to bounce back from his last fight with a big win over Kelly.
