GLORY have announced their new fight series named “ROAD TO GLORY”, which has been created to help find a new generation of Martial Arts fighters and superstars from around the world. The winner will earn themselves a one-year GLORY contract and the opportunity to compete in one of the world’s premier fighting organisations.
GLORY announced the new fight series today via official press release.
“ROAD TO GLORY” will begin in 2013, with six events set to be held during the first five months of the new year. There will be six different weight divisions and competitors from the U.S., and possibly Mexico, Canada and Brazil are likely to participate. Each of the six events will be comprised of a one-night, single-elimination, eight-man tournament, and the fighters will compete under GLORY rules. The total prize money for each of the “ROAD TO GLORY USA” tournaments will be US $34,000, with the winner taking home US $20,000.

But, ROAD TO GLORY is not open only to athletes from kickboxing or Muay Thai backgrounds. Competitors from boxing, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Karate, Taekwondo, Capoeira, and Kung-Fu backgrounds are also encouraged to participate. This series is open to any athlete who believes in himself and is confident he has what it takes to succeed in GLORY,”
GLORY’s six weight classes are as follows: flyweight (143 pounds), lightweight (154 pounds), welterweight (170 pounds), middleweight (187 pounds), light heavyweight (209 pounds), heavyweight (above 209 pounds).
