  • MMC Fight Club Logo 300x169 Oli Thompson vs. Damian Grabowski set to headline MMC Fight Club: Revelation on Dec. 16Europe’s newest mixed martial arts promotion MMC Fight Club are set to hold their first show, “MMC Fight Club: Revelation”, on Dec. 16 at London’s indigo2 arena. The event will feature a headline bout between former UFC heavyweight Oli Thompson and Damian Grabowski.

    Also on the card, heavyweights Marcina Najmana and Tyberiusza Kowalczyka face off under K1 rules in heated grudge battle of kickboxing prowess.

    Oli Thompson was last in action at CSMMA 3 in November, where he scored a first round stoppage over Ivan Pioneer. Prior to that he had been on a two fight skid in the UFC, dropping losses to Phil De Fries and Shawn Jordan earlier this year. Those losses followed a five fight winning streak Thompson had built up competing on the regional circuit here in the UK. Oli now has the chance to regain some of that momentum with a big win over Grabowski.

    Damian Grabowski is currently riding a three fight winning streak, most recently defeating Dave Huckaba via unanimous decision at Bellator 67 in May. Prior to that he scored a second round submission victory over Eddie Sanchez at MMA Attack 2 in April, and a first round submission win over Joaquim Ferreira at MMA Attack 1 in November 2011. A big performance and a win against Oli Thompson will take Damian one step higher on the heavyweight ladder.
