British heavyweight fighter Chi Lewis-Parry will be facing Scott Saward at UCMMA 33, which takes place at the Troxy in London on Saturday, April 6th.

The MMA Review (themmareview.co.uk) recently got the chance to talk with Chi about the upcoming bout, training and goals for the future and more…

    Check out the interview:

Jay Cee: Hi Chi, you will be taking on Scott Saward in a heavyweight bout at UCMMA 33 on April 6th. Do you know much about your opponent?

Chi: I know that he’s a young hungry guy with victory on his mind and its down to me to control what and when he eats.

Jay Cee: How has training been going?

Chi: Training has been great. I’ve had some fantastic help from my trainers Danny Brennan and Chris Batheldor, who have been putting me through my paces.

Jay Cee: Have you been working on anything specific in this fight camp to prepare for Saward?

Chi: I have gone back to my old method of training from my basketball days and incorporated plyometrics into my busy schedule. Agility is a strength of mine, so I have to keep it fresh.

Jay Cee: What gym do you train out of? and what fighters and coaches have you been working with?

Chi: Currently I train with the guys over at Beatbox MMA. However, I travel around a lot to work with some of the best in the business. As part of this camp I have worked with Gary ‘smiler’ Turner and Jimi Manuwa at lions Pride. These guys have been more than hospitable.

Jay Cee: You are the current UK1 champion and you are undefeated in MMA, what would you say is the key to your success so far?

Chi: I spend a lot of time visualizing where I want to be. That keeps me driven and on course. Because in reality, i’m nowhere near where I want to be yet, so the hard work has to be put in until I get there.

Jay Cee: What are your goals for the rest of the year?

Chi: My goals are to get out to Holland and train my ass off, and to remain undefeated of course!

Jay Cee: Thanks for the time Chi, do you have any people, coaches or sponsors you would like to thank?

Chi: I would like to thank my coaches Danny Brennan and Chris Batcheldor. Beatbox MMA. Gary Turner, Lions Pride MMA, my management team Mogul Management and my sponsors UK Fight wear (www.ukfightwear.com) Nutri Balance water, Cutting edge sports nutrition and Body Armour uk etc.

Thanks again to Chi Lewis-Parry for the interview, I appreciate the time.
