  • UCMMA 36 poster UCMMA 36 Results: Carl Kinslow submits Nick Chapman, becomes new light heavyweight champThe results are in for UCMMA 36, which took place at the Troxy in London, England, this past Saturday, October 5th. Carl Kinslow was crowned the new light heavyweight champion after scoring a first round submission win over Nick Chapman.

Chapman began the fight aggressively, knocking Kinslow down onto his back after a quick encounter. However, once on the ground Kinslow worked well off his back and was able to secure an arm in guillotine and submit Chapman.

TheMMAReview.co.uk was lucky enough to catch up with the new UCMMA light heavyweight champion Carl Kinslow. Here is what he had to say about the fight:

“I mentally embraced the grind and my passion showed as I got hit on the button from a beast like Chapman, but having loads of energy I can cope well with difficult situations, it shows growth. I am humbled by the support from everyone. I envisioned being a champ and put the work in, it’s great being a champ, I now get to fight other legends and embrace it all. I just love the energy within the cage, I feel alive, I feel amazing, and the support helps me beyond. This donkey is happy that Impact got me the shorts, made me look good and Serious Nutrition, Garry Hawkins and GSX, they created a champion. Everyone I train with, dreams do become reality people, work for yours. Pow! I wish Nick all the best. Thanks, your local donkey, Carl “Energy” Kinslow.

Elsewhere on the card, Charlie Leary picked up a unanimous decision win over Jamaine Facey, becoming the new UCMMA lightweight champion. Meanwhile, Julian Kerr was expected to face Khalid Ismail for the vacant welterweight title, but Kerr didn’t turn up to fight on the night leaving Khalid with no opponent. As a result, UCMMA promoter Dave O’Donnell decided to give Khalid Ismail the welterweight title.

“We have made Khalid the new Welterweight Champion, no one will fight him, now if they want to have the Gold belt around their waist they will,” – Dave O’Donnell.

During the event things got even more interesting as welterweight contender Nathan Jones stepped into the cage and offered to take the fight with Ismail on UCMMA 37, Saturday 30th November. Ismail and O’Donnell have accepted and contracts will be sorted forth coming.
