  • Full Contact Contender 4 poster 199x300 Full Contact Contender 4: Fight card confirmed with Arish vs. Inman set to headline on Oct. 20Full Contact Contender (FCC) have confirmed their fight card and main event for FCC 4 as Ali Arish (15-2) faces Matt Inman (8-3) in a welterweight battle. The event is set to take place in the Premier Suite at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton on Oct. 20.

FCC officials confirmed the fight card today via official press release.

FCC 4 will also feature a co-main event between AJ Akande and Brett ‘The Spartan’ McDermott, who will battle for the FCC Light Heavyweight Championship. Johnny Mann will also return to defend his welterweight title against Ian Buckly.

Here is what Full Contact Contender promoter, Adam Teh, had to say:

“It’s great to return to the Reebok for another stacked FCC card! We’ve got an incredible pro showcase bout at the top of the bill; Ali Arish could well be on his way to the UFC with a couple more wins, and Matt Inman has the chance to revitalize his career with a huge upset. As for the rest of the card, FCC favorites like Luke Taylor and Mitchell Richards are back, and with four title fights, we’ve got more gold up for grabs than a garage sale at Mr T’s house!”

Ali Arish is currently riding a four fight winning streak, most recently defeating Tautvydas Lileikis via first round TKO at UCC 12 in September. Prior to that he scored a first round TKO over Stu Barrs at UCC 11 in April, and picked up a first round submission win over Jimmy Millar at UCC 10 in Dec 2011. His last defeat was against Jack Hermansson at CWFC 41 in April 2011, where he suffered a second round KO. Arish will no doubt look to extend his winning streak to five with a big performance against Inman.

Matt Inman last fought at Total Combat 47 in May, where he picked up a first round submission victory over Kyle Redfearn. Prior to that he had been on a two fight skid, dropping back-to-back losses against Eugene Fadiora and Stu Barrs. Those defeats followed a three fight winning streak Inman had built up, scoring notable wins over Jamie Rogers, Richard Jones and James Mair during 2010. Matt now has the opportunity to put another notch in the win column by beating Arish.

Here is what Matt Inman had to say about the upcoming bout:

“Ali is a good fighter and a cool guy. Like myself he’s a real fighter who is always training and always in the gym, he’s always active so I know he’s going to be in shape. I think we have a good contrast in skill sets that is going to make for an interesting fight. I’m really excited to fight on FCC, never been to one before but heard good things and looks like a great set up, I’m very proud to be headlining the show.I think this is one of the biggest fights Manchester MMA has seen in a long time and it’s not gonna let anybody down. Expect fireworks.”
